Ooh, thank...Thanks Liz! Another snowstorm today...

Ooh, thanks Tanya!

Definitely true, Belinda. I've read a few non-edited e-books in the past month or so and... To be polite, I'll just say that I'm not sure why any author would put out work they don't feel is the best it could be.

I agree, Claire, which is why I think I could only go indie if I had a part time job. Otherwise, I'd rather make time for writing any day.

On the other hand... I agree with you too Madison! We'll see what happens when I finish the current book.

Thanks for dropping by Vicki, JL and Julie! In a way, I'm glad all this discussion is going on, so that we can learn from it - those who are going indie before everyone else are the brave ones!Deniz Bevanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17134553551048836979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3029491889310063596.post-3525868209821253912011-03-09T23:38:16.885-05:002011-03-09T23:38:16.885-05:00I'm heading over to Nathan's blog. I don't promote much so I have a lot of time for other things . . . like writing. :D

It's definitely a lot of work starting off because there's so much to learn. No matter how well prepared you are, there are still mistakes you're going to make. But it's fun and surprisingly fulfilling to take control of all aspects of publishing.C.Farrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02679203163611266788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3029491889310063596.post-73744429883935620502011-03-09T12:01:51.042-05:002011-03-09T12:01:51.042-05:00I will say that indie publishing is a lot of work....I will say that indie publishing is a lot of work. Traditional publishing is too, though. If you have the skills with MS Word and/or InDesign, and can hire someone to make your cover, you're already better off than a lot of people.

Also, please hire an editor, because it totally pays off. I wasn't sure if I should, but once I got Haunting Miss Trentwood back from my editor I praised her to the high heavens. Good luck! Contact me if you go indie and I'll see what I can do to help.Belinda Kroll, YA Victorian Romancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00094563260885474369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3029491889310063596.post-83878912330538860652011-03-09T08:42:52.877-05:002011-03-09T08:42:52.877-05:00Hey yesterday I searched my document for the word ...Hey yesterday I searched my document for the word "only"; 62 times on the first 155 pages.

Stop by my blog, I have a styling award for you.
http://Tanyareimer/blogspot.comTanya Reimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00293977395016853814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3029491889310063596.post-67391343737133738272011-03-09T08:20:24.584-05:002011-03-09T08:20:24.584-05:00Thanks for the tip about Nathan's blog.
