B is for Becky's Horse
is for Becky's Horse.
For this year's A to Z I'm featuring books I've read based on the Reading Challenge:
Today's books are books from my childhood. Besides the usual classics and series, I read quite a few one-off books. Here are two of them:
After winning a horse in a contest, Becky must decide whether to keep him -- she's longed for a horse for years -- or take the prize money to help an Austrian cousin orphaned during the invasion of Hitler's troops.
I always enjoyed this book for the reference to The Lord of the Rings!
What random books do you remember from childhood?

Becky's Horse by Winifred Madison

The Secret Life of Hilary Thorne by Marcia Wood
"With her father's new, high-pressured job on Madison Avenue and his resulting personality change, Hilary finds an increasing need to escape into a fantasy world peopled with characters from the books she has read. When her troubles at home and school mount, the fantasy world becomes so comfortable that Hilary almost decides to reside there permanently."

Cheers Hilary
I liked The Mouse and the Motorcycle.
I really enjoyed reading about your past books. Thank you
Oh yes! I forgot about John Bellairs -- I love his stuff, too. And ghost stories! I read A Ghost in the Picture and A Ghost in the Window and Ghost Cat...they were quite good but I never read any other books like that, I wonder why?
I like your choice Alex -- I never read that one even though I read the Ramona books often.
