Backyard Adventures! Part 2 of 2 and IWSG Day

Backyard adventures and IWSG Day!

IWSG Day!

The awesome co-hosts for the July 2 posting of the IWSG are Rebecca Douglass, Natalie Aguirre, Cathrina Constantine, and Louise Barbour!

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.

July 2 question - Is there a genre you haven't tried writing in yet that you really want to try? If so, do you plan on trying it?

Great question! And yes!

In the fanfic world, I'd like to explore hanahaki and omegaverse.

In traditional publishing, I'd love to write a good horror story! Kind of like the ghost stories and other eerie stories of E Nesbit, or like The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket by Edgar Allan Poe.

I have written murder mysteries, but I don't actually have a detective character. I'd love to meet one!

Looks like some good food.
Considering where you live, horror would be great. So much inspiration.

How could I have missed Edgar's novel? As a kid, I read his collection of poems and short stories that my mom had on her bookshelves, but she didn't have that one. And hanahaki and omegaverse? I had to look that up.

Beautiful pictures! You're the third person who said horror -- or 4th -- that I've come across. It's crazy. Is that just one of the more nuanced or challenging genres? LOL. Don't listen to me. I'll always take a new ghost story.
