rumroll, please! Time to draw the winner for my book review contest ! I've decided to have two winners and to draw names from both the contest post and the July Insecure Writer's Support Group Day post (because I think I muddied the contest waters a bit by posting them back to back). t's Insecure Writer's Support Group Day! This month's question is: What is your favorite writing craft book? Think of a book that every time you read it you learn something or you are inspired to write or try the new technique. And why? The awesome co-hosts for the August 4 posting of the IWSG are   PK Hrezo,   Cathrina Constantine,   PJ Colando,   Kim Lajevardi,  and  Sandra Cox! I don't really have a favourite craft book. I loved Stephen King's On Writing , Diana Gabaldon's "I Give You My Body . . .": How I Write Sex Scenes , the various memoirs written by Lois Lowry and Katherine Paterson and other favourite authors, and I haven't read Anne Lamott yet, and I'm sure I'm forgetting so many more... Besides craft books, reading a really good novel or collection of poetry is also always inspiring. nsecure Writer's Support Group Day is coming up! And my book review contest is running all month! Mine is going to be a photo post, mainly, as I'm running a contest all month! This month's question is: What would make you quit writing? Short answer: Nothing! I once had a serious case of writer's block that last over a year or two, and the idea that I might have lost that vital part of myself really frightened me. I was never so grateful as when I suddenly had a vision of a boy and a cat, walking backward through time , with the Aegean Sea following them to its location c. AD 43... Part of the reason I try to keep up regular writing habits is because I never want the well to dry up ever again! Speaking of which, it's time for a new round of A Round of Words in 80 Days goals!
