J is for Just Another Day in Canada

J is for just another day in Canada... A few Twitter favourites of Canadiana images:

First there's outdoor skating:

Then there are my own snowstorm photos, and a shot of true Canadians:

Elsewhere we have Antarctica, which I mention as we sometimes have the same weather as they do:

us...

...and them

amazing Antarctica

And then there's this awesome black and white shot:

Do you have any winter memories to share, now that spring is finally here?
Or now that it's autumn, for those down south?

Comments

That man in the image is very popular with those birds.
When I lived in the midwest, I remember snow drifts against the back of our house as high as the roof.
We had a pretty fierce blizzard that wound up being a lot of fun when we got together with neighbors.

So glad snow is behind us... I hope.

HI, Deniz,

Happy Spring!

Cool Pics..

This year at Christmas I escaped SNOWLESS but FRIGID Chicago to a small Illinois town named Galena... Three hours west of the city.

Eight inches of snow fell Christmas eve on top of the foot of snow already there. It was a WINTER WONDERLAND. Christmas day I spent the sun drenched day sledding....

Brrrr! I'm glad I live where I do (I was in Oregon but now I'm in California). I don't do well in snow and ice and all that cold stuff. Have a great weekend!
It was freezing on the first day of spring here in Chicago, and it's still pretty cold and rainy right now; some years it feels like we go from the freezing cold of winter straight into the humid heat of summer, from one extreme to the next. Nothing against hockey or hockey fans, but I probably wouldn't line up in the cold for hockey. I'd stand in line in freezing weather for free doughnuts, though. :)

I LOVE ice skating. I don't get to do it much here in Georgia though. So sad.

Those are beautiful pictures! I wish spring had finally sprung. Living in eastern Canada, it's hard to believe it's spring. Last I heard, they were calling for yet another snow storm. I always thought it was 'April showers bring May flowers' not April snowstorms!

Have fun with a-z.

I can remember climbing out of a second story window because the snow had compacted against the first story doors.
Hi Deniz .. I think I've written enough about ice and snow and past memories this year .. my blog seems full of the stuff - ok now it's food - but even that has Elizabeth David and her snowstorm gridlock ..

But these were fascinating .. and I'd love to see more sometime! Cheers Hilary

Sigh, I miss snow. We had one heavy winter a few years back where we got a couple of feet but the length of time that passes between snowstorms like that is getting longer and longer (think years)as time goes on. *Sad face*

Guess what everyone? We had snow again last Friday! Snow is pretty and I really love it, but it's April now! I want to put my coat and boots away...
