E is for... Editing Druid's Moon

Back in 2011, I held a week-long contest to celebrate the fact that I'd reached my 500th post, after nearly four years of blogging.
At the time, I sorted many of my previous posts into groups, which made for easy referencing, especially of story material. (Also because I've never tagged my posts!)

When I celebrated reaching my 1000th post during last year's A to Z Challenge there wasn't time to sort all the posts between 2011 and 2016.
What better time than now?

I’m actually going to go over 1,000, and collate all posts to the end of 2016! And I’m going to link to every single post (except for the A to Z posts, which are mostly summarized), something I didn’t do in my original 500 compilation, or even in my 900th post compilation.

I’ve got lots of fun themes coming up for each day -- and each day will also highlight a fellow blogger or two!

Today is...
Editing Druid’s Moon, my paranormal romance

The beginning!
Research weirdness
J. J. J. Dickson art
Mini synopsis
A wee snip
First draft done! (Still with no title!)
A snip!
Finding a title for two novels at once
Images of Frederick
Almost done typing it up
A comment on Tara's blog from when I finished typing up the story!
A snip
Octopus images and more octopus images
A short questionnaire
Slowly reaching the end of edits
Finished editing!
First five lines
Longer snip
A bit of final editing, finally!

Since today is also Insecure Writer's Support Group Day, I am pleased that this post shows clearly that slow and steady wins the race! Sometimes I feel guilty for not working as hard as I can or devoting as much time to editing as I could, but looking back on a couple of years of work, it's heartening to see that I am actually pulling ahead.

Druid's Moon is now out with betas, and then it's query time!

You seem so focused on your writing. I visited Nasreen's blog and she took me back to Montana, a place I'd love to visit again

How fun to look back on the process of putting together a novel. Glad it has been encouraging to see how the pieces came together.
Hi Deniz - I'm always amazed at how much you achieve ... and you've read so many books, and have so much knowledge re literature - especially with the Wallace project. Enjoy sorting the edits out once your beta readers reply ... cheers Hilary

Enjoy the weekend with E for Emily!

Thanks, all! It helps, on days when I feel like I'm not getting anywhere, because editing never seems to end...

You are truly impressive. So many books and knowledge in research. My daughter Erin Spock is in nth degree as well in her books. She has a few good betas who hold her to the fire.

I have a favor to ask of you. Could you please stop by my Susan Kane, Writer site and read my latest post. Nothing in family history is as painful as dealing with memories of a war. I'd like your comments, if you can. Thanks!
