There's also a new initiative being hosted by author Susan Kaye Quinn: Writers on the Moon!
"Right now, the world is drenched in tears, but that's precisely the time when we most need something to lift our sights to the horizon. The future. The reality that the world will keep turning, the Moon our constant companion and silent witness.
We're sending a time capsule to the future with stories written today.
I can't think of a more beautiful thing to spend time on in this moment. So I finally got the website built, the forms assembled, and created a plan for organizing this whole adventure.
I hope you'll join me.
We don't have much time, so don't delay in applying for a slot! I'll blog about all of it as we go. You can check back here, join the Facebook Group to meet your fellow Moon Capsule Enthusiasts, or subscribe to the newsletter, which will also chronicle the adventure. All of this is designed to be a lasting snapshot of this tumultuous time: more on the details of that to come.
For now, sign up and join me in spreading a little hope in these, the darkest days of a very dark winter."
I've signed up and am hoping to get a spot!

And now for another new release: Let It Be Me by Kait Nolan

"Four years ago, firefighter Caleb Romero saved a child and met the woman of his dreams. But trauma killed the timing, so he’s contented himself with being the friend she needed as she navigated sudden parenthood.
Four years ago, Emerson Aldridge became a mom in the worst possible way. Without qualm, she abandoned her own dreams to shepherd her teenage daughter through their shared grief. Her number one priority has been to raise Fiona the way her best friend would have wanted.
Now Fi’s headed off to college and Emerson has no idea how to feel about her suddenly empty nest. She barely even remembers life before motherhood, but Caleb’s right next door to give her a reminder—along with a toe-curling kiss that catapults them past friends and into something more. The life she wanted before the accident is still within reach. He just has to convince her that their age difference means nothing.
Piece of cake. Right?"

I read this story in one sitting!
I loved the balance between the everyday characters, the difficult circumstances they had to face, and the kind and caring way they dealt with it all.
Not going to complain about the cameos from all the Misfit Inn characters, either! If you haven't read the Misfit Inn series yet, you don't need to have done so to enjoy this book -- on the other hand, this story is a great introduction to all the characters of that series, even if it's a bit later in their chronology.
The cherry on top is the adorable adopted doggie!
Sweet, realistic, and romantic, a perfect small-town story for a brief escape. I heard a rumour that Emerson's best friend is getting her own book; I can't wait!

As promised in my last post, more snow! We drove up into the hills to find it:

Me! Unfiltered! With a handknit hat (more on that to come) and my Outlander scarf

Have you read any exciting new releases recently?

I'm curious about your story... I don't read much sci-fi these years, but I have one waiting in my tbr pile that I must read, I may have mentioned this before, L. E. Modesit, Jr's "Quantum Shadows". I'm one of three clergy he dedicated it to.

I love snow and after living in South Georgia for the past six years, I'm glad to be back where we get snow--we've had to decent snows so far this year.
Hi Deniz - congratulations on your entry and also on the anthology. Love the photos and the hand-knitted hat, as well as the special scarf. Fantastic you've got snow ... wonderful fun for the family ... enjoy - we might even get some here tonight- in fact I'm sure it is snowing a few miles inland - a heavy bank of cloudis very visible ... but at the coast we're in sun with snow clouds!

Re books - my brother bought me the Kamala Harris book - it's excellent ... stay safe - Hilary
