Acronym Soup Day! A to Z Reflections, ROW80, WRiTE Club, and IWSG

You might not want to hear this but yesterday I had the perfect idea for a theme for next year's A to Z Challenge!

If I had all sorts of extra time, I could begin scheduling my posts today.

That would be a special form of madness, no? Plus it would remove some of the spontaneity and excitement from the event. In any case, I should focus more on writing and editing! I've had two story ideas in the past month -- this is fun, but not conducive to editing the already-completed novels.

One of my ROW80 goals for this round was simply to survive the A to Z. I did better than expected! Not only did I manage to post every day, but I also (thanks to a couple of days off work) caught up on all the comments here. Of course, I'm still busy making the rounds of many other participants... At last count, I had about 50 bloggers still to visit, plus (unbelievably) 60 others that I still owe visits to following my blog blitz day!

It seemed to me there were lots of fresh ideas for A to Z themes this year. Blogging is alive and well!

This is perhaps a good thing to keep in mind on Insecure Writer's Support Group Day. I worry that not having a regular cycle of editing will somehow loosen my writing muscles, but I forget that other writing -- not just the novel -- is good exercise too! Blogging, brainstorming, everything counts.

And I managed to submit a short piece for WriTE Club, which starts on 18 May! Here are the rules:

Come early and vote often!

Thank you to all the organizers and hosts of the A to Z.

I hope everyone had a great time visiting the A to Zers!

Well done on A to Z! I was caught up with comments through about the 20th then everything fell all to heck, so I need to backtrack... And yes... new ideas are SO MUCH sexier than cleaning up stuff you wrote already!

Thank you for the WRITE CLUB mention. It's great to have you as a contestant this year. It's gonna be a wild ride!! :)
That's awesome you submitted to Write Club!
I've always said blogging counts towards writing. That includes comments.

Oh cool, I hope you make it for Write Club bouts. That was fun the year I made it.

Perhaps you can jot down some of those A-Z ideas in a saved word document. Good to be prepared :)

Awesome work on the A to Z Challenge!
You might want to at least make a note for yourself about the new AtoZ theme for next year, Deniz. No need to actually plot and plan those posts... but it never hurts to have the mind mulling over ideas.

WriteClub.... wow! Looks awesome. I must look into that next year. Hope you rock it this year! Knock 'em dead, champ!

Glad to see another A to Z challenger meet success this year. And this is the second time I heard of the WriTE Club (will have to think about entering next year, if I remember). Anyways, good luck!

Wow, you were way better than me, both completing the challenge and answering comments. I missed two of the days, and would probably have dropped out if I didn't have my awesome guest post writer come and save me 4 times!

I really liked your blog blitz, especially the entry written on wisteria by a blog you liked . . . and the energy you have to jump right into the Write Club (after just having finished that AtoZ challenge. Persevere further!
Hi Deniz - I've no idea how you do it all .. and submitting to the WriTE Club - bet DL is very happy with the entries.

Congratulations on visiting all participants as you could .. I need to go and look around too - I wasn't up to my usual scratch this year - had left writing so many til too late.

Your thought about writing now or the spontaneity of 2016 writes is interesting .. I don't think mine would have been as good if I'd done them last year ... though I wish I'd got my act into gear this year .. but the hip threw me out of kilter for a while.

Thanks for all your support and look ins ... cheers Hilary

Thank so much everyone!
I think I'm finally -- after many months -- getting into a regular blogging pattern, so that I don't drastically fall behind in comments again. Next step is to carve more writing time!

I love that you've come up with an idea for next year already. I'm already starting to get ideas for my next A to Z Challenge as well!

I know what you mean. Right now, I'm feverishly busy with things that I have to edit and format for publishing, and the whole time, I'm struggling not to think about stuff I should be writing.
It's never too early to start preparing for the next A to Z.
I normally open a Word document and build it little by little...

Sounds like you are on a roll!
When you are inspired, then capture the creativity there and then, to make up for the dry spells in between.

Congrats on your Write Club entry.
