Visit to Lakeside Town of Rolle, ROW80, and Ambient Mixer

Part two of Lac Leman photos!

We visited Rolle at the end of September:

I only have one ROW80 goal this week: decide what to do during NaNoWriMo! Do I edit Larksong and Druid's Moon? Do I type up the WWI story from last year's NaNo? Do I start a new story? Or do I continue the story I started during Camp NaNo in August? Must choose...

I've been listening to something interesting while I work. I discovered the Ambient Mixer website through Kait Nolan, and am enjoying it more than I thought I would! You can listen to all sorts of background sounds, from a quiet library (scratching quill pens!) to a ship at sea (waves on the hull! ship's bell!) to zombies attacking (this would be a great background sound for a Hallowe'en party) and much more.

You can also create your own!

I've made a pub by the seashore, with a fireplace and a train in the distance. And a bit of medieval music...

Which sounds would you love to have in the background?

Super awesome about the ambient noise thing. My ears are on the hyper sensitive side, so I can only take so much, but I think that would definitely help with writing some scenes.

Ever pic is a postcard, Deniz!!!! Simply beautiful! Needed those on this ver grey and rainy Chicago day!
Love the background sounds and I will have to check it out! Love the photos and I'm with you, trying to figure everything out with NaNoWriMo. Here is to both of us gaining clarity and completing our 50,000 words in November!

Beautiful photos!

That ambient noise mixer sounds cool! I will need to give it a try.

I had a hard time deciding what to do for Nano. I was going to work on a rewrite of an older project, but then I remembered that I didn't want 3 years between releases of my series (if I could help it...the first time, I couldn't) so I figured Nano would give me a chance to get a good chunk done.

You can always change your mind before Nov 1st!

I love the pictures!

And, oh...the choices for NaNoWriMo!

I have an ongoing series of SciFi shorts to promo, and I just published an urban-fantasy novella, but I'm returning to Steampunk for NaNoWriMo.

These pictures are so lovely. Is this Switzerland?
For writing I like classic music if it isn't too clangy, rain, and fireplace sounds are also nice

I'm a bit late, not bad :) picturesque scenery. I was thinking that the pictures would make great homemade postcards or wallpapers for one's desktop.
In regards to NaNo, one of my FB friends suggested that I work on several WIP while under the thumb of our on and off lover WriMo.
I will check out the

Beautiful place... I find myself missing fall about this time of the year, now that I have moved back south.

I've never done the NaNo--November is just too busy.

Fantastic photos! And it sounds like you have a lot of good choices for NaNo--good luck picking just one!

Re ambient noise: I love the sound of water. The ocean, a creek flowing over rocks, that sort of thing. So soothing.
Hi Deniz - another bronze age settlement .. it's fascinating to think peoples from those eras roamed around - they did here too. I'm happy with my silence - not sure why .. but in the streets too - hate it when people make noise!!

Good luck with your NaNo choice .. cheers Hilary
