Summer Fire by Deniz Bevan
The Dirty Bits from Carina Press "give you what you want, when you want it. Designed to be read in an hour or two," these "microromances are guaranteed to pack a punch and deliver a happily-ever-after."

'You know how it is with Canadians. We come alive in the summer.'

Ayse had resigned herself to an interesting—but in the end unromantic—trip visiting family in Istanbul. Great-aunts, touristy sites and endless meals…until she meets fellow doctor Hakan.

All tanned skin and defined muscle under his polo shirt, his kisses cut off her breath, making her dizzy. His every touch is a thrill.

Ayse wants all of Hakan at once. His sweet mouth, the heat of his body against hers, their heartbeats slowing together.

A holiday romance might give her some blazing memories come the lonely winter, but maybe, just maybe, the fire between them doesn’t have to be as fleeting as the summer.

For those times when size does matter. The Dirty Bits from Carina Press: quick and dirty, just the way we like it. One-click with confidence. This title is part of the Carina Press Romance Promise: all the romance you’re looking for with an HEA/HFN. It’s a promise!"

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time - and return comments. This group is all about connecting!

Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post. And please be sure your avatar links back to your blog! Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG.

The awesome co-hosts for the February 1 posting of the IWSG are Jacqui Murray, Ronel Janse van Vuuren, Pat Garcia, and Gwen Gardner!

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.
Remember, the question is optional!

February 1 question - If you are an Indie author, do you make your own covers or purchase them? If you publish trad, how much input do you have about what goes on your cover?

You ready?
Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!

This is a great question because everyone's featuring their favourite designers and I'm learning a lot!
I don't have an eye for design myself, so I would definitely need some help on this front.

Speaking of covers, I found a fascinating copy of Dubliners by James Joyce at the last book sale I went to: the copy that was not authorized for import into "the British Empire" or the United States...

There's a new Kickstarter happening for an exciting new series!

The Fireborn series by Vanessa Ricci-Thode follows three generations of powerful women, and the dragons they befriend. It's been described as How to Train Your Dragon meets The Legend of Korra.

My first ROW80 post for the year was a bit top-heavy. Setting everything else aside, I have five stories in the works:

1. Larksong: I need to finish entering all the edits on paper and finish the research
2. A Stitch in Time: I need to edit this thing because...
3. A Stitch in Time Outtake: I need to finish drafting this thing, so I can possibly issue both stories together!
4. Montreal: New story that I'm drafting -- this is the main item I'm working on at the moment
5. The Flight of Time: It's ready to go! I just need to put together the darn synopsis!

New stuff!

Are you a designer of book covers or other media?
Have you backed a Kickstarter project recently? Please share!

Hi, Deniz!

Thank you for visiting me at Shady's Place today! You are always welcome there, and I eagerly await another opportunity to entertain and educate you.

You are delightfully busy, Deniz, with multiple irons in fire. Speaking of fire, your book Summer Fire looks like a sizzler, and Vanessa's Fireborn series is an attention grabber as well.

Thanks again for your interest in Shady's Place Music & Memories. Enjoy the rest of your week, Deniz!

I'd have to hire an artist to design my covers too. I'm not talented enough to design them myself.
That's a really old cover all right.

You are busy! It's clear you love writing. Checking on the Kickstarter...

Yup, that's one old book cover. Many older books have had a book cover face lift, Sometimes many.

If only we could do covers like that nowadays.
Goodness you have a lot on your plate. Good luck with it. All of it.

Good on you for having five stories in the works.
Well, I do love an obscure book. Though, I think these days, its rather undynamic cover is part of what makes it intriguing more than it's "not for publication" status. Personally, I'm going to try working with an artist to see if there is a way to mesh a personal concept into an attractive piece of artwork... something I am not qualified to do at all. I take it you're still deciding on your own course of action?

As for your ROW80 goals... I think it is a great idea to get books ready to be published together. But hold the option to dole them out maybe?
WOW, happy writing, you sure have been busy and I hope the plans all come together perfectly!

Loved the quote about Canadians, Deniz! I would need professional help in designing a cover. Thanks for sharing the James Joyce edition. Have a productive February.

I don't feel like I have the greatest eye for design, but I know what I like when I see it.
