It's Insecure Writer's Support Group Day!

And, wow, it's already October. Deep breath!

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time - and return comments. This group is all about connecting!

Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post. And please be sure your avatar links back to your blog! Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG.

Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!
Our Twitter handle is @TheIWSG and hashtag is #IWSG.

The awesome co-hosts for the October 4 posting of the IWSG are Natalie Aguirre, Kim Lajevardi, Debs Carey, Gwen Gardner, Patricia Josephine, and Rebecca Douglass!

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.

Remember, the question is optional!

October 4 question: The topic of AI writing has been heavily debated across the world. According to various sources, generative AI will assist writers, not replace them. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are still in flux. I think it's a good thing that the use of artificial intelligence tools is still being debated and considered. I'd be worried about it's use in schools before old-school essay writing and classic research techniques have been taught.

Time for another proper ROW80 update!

My start-of-Round-3 goals involved Larksong, A Stitch in Time, A Stitch in Time Outtake [three scenes edited and posted!] and The Flight of Time.

Later, I wrote: "Instead of working on those, I wrote a handful of new stories! Links are available on my ko-fi page (yes, I'm set up to receive donations, but any and all amounts received will go back to supporting other creators!)."

I've been posting Larksong here! We're up to chapter 10!

Still haven't done much with the other two novels. I've got 14 stories to post in October! After that, I've got the final chapters to draft on a couple of stories, likely during NaNoWriMo.

Then December... We've been planning a vacation, so I might just take a reading holiday! Haven't done one of those in a couple of years, if I remember correctly.

And now... More photos by Miss E!

Mountie looks like he needs a good brushing!

Are you already planning for the holidays?

Comments

I'm concerned about how it will be used in schools, too, but I don't think it's creative enough to replace humanity.
Love these photos!
Mountie is a cute pup!

Nice photos. We're all concerned about AI, and should be, but with the updated iPhone, the photos are enhanced and I assume that's via AI

I agree that learning how to use AI definitely should come later just like we teach proper handwriting before we teach typing skills.

Your puppy is precious! Great pics.
