Tolkien's Art in Tapestry Form
olkien!
I got to visit the Aubusson Tisse Tolkien exhibit in Paris last month!
The Aubusson weavers have created tapestries of some of Tolkien's art, and the exhibit came to Paris for a limited time, at the College des Bernardins.
I was pleasantly surprised to see other items included in the exhibit, such as Tolkien's Oxford gown!
Do you have another example of art begetting art?

Thank you, both! I was so glad to be able to visit this exhibit!
Also on looking I note the Aubussons started weaving in the 1300s, whereas the Gobelins (a family of dyers) - the French royal choice - only started in the middle of the 1400s ...
This a truly wonderful post - great education ... cheers Hilary
